Tsunami warning cancelled!

If you caught the news today, you may have heard that a magnitude-7.6 earthquake struck Costa Rica, causing a tsunami warning to be issued for the region. Fortunately, the warning has been cancelled, and there are no reports of major damage. Good news!! People in Nicaragua to the north and Panama to the south said they felt the quake, but aboard Bella Star, we only felt the usual bobbing.

Thanks to everyone who pinged us to check in! We’re lucky to have such awesome folks looking out for us.

    1. Hi, John! We were in Golfito, which is tucked up inside the Golfo Dulce in southern Costa Rica. Apparently people here (like everywhere in the Ring of Fire, I suppose) are waiting for The Big One... I hope that was it!
