In order to break up the trip back to La Paz we stopped for a couple nights on Isla Espiritu Santo again. This time we stayed in the El Mezteno anchorage.
The guidebook mentioned a trail that went up the arroyo up to the ridge. After some searching we found that the “trail” involves climbing huge boulders, following piles of rocks.
Large lizards would frequently scamper out from underfoot just to get our hearts pumping
Okay, we made it to the top. Now what?
Well you take an arm shot of course
We erroneously did this hike in our sandals. About half way up to the top we were getting blisters from the uneven terrain. Sure, we should have turned around, but then we wouldn’t have gotten the arm shot. The blisters got progressively worse as we made our way down. By the end of the hike Nicole was in tears and I wasn’t doing much better. We both suffered some of the most horrific blisters ever. Next time it’s hiking boots or no hiking.
Anyway, here’s a few more pictures from the stop:
What bueatiful scenery! The cliff edges make it look like the water was much higher at one time. They look like geyser action there
ReplyDeleteMakes me keep asking myself,"What the hell am I doing in Washington State freezing my backside?"
Sorry about the blisters, hope they heal fast, soak them in the salt water. It will hurt but will heal faster.Into every paradise a little hurt comes along
So can not stay away from the hamburgers and beer, huh.
I am jealous but happy to be taken along via great pictures!
Have fun and be safe............
Love You Guys

Looks like you're headed across today, hope you have smooth sailing!
