Ensenada Grande

By Aaron

We went from Ensenada de Raza on Isla Espiritu Santo to Ensenada Grande, an anchorage just a couple miles up on Isla Partida.

DSC_1079Going to shore was like driving the dinghy in a big swimming pool

DSC_1075There was live coral and lots of fish by the rocks

DSC_1083The beach was white and fine like powdered sugar, but didn’t taste as good

Ensenada Grande is a very large bay with no less than three separate bights that provide spacious, beautiful anchorages with depths that allow for wide spacing of vessels.  But even with all those anchoring options, some megayachts would agree that the spot 50 feet off Bella Star’s port side is the ideal location to drop the hook.

  1. What is the water temperature? A soon to be visitor of Cabo really wants to know :)

  2. OMG!! I guess they figured they have tonnage on you!! I am pretty sure I would have found one of my old AC/DC albums and had it blaring as loud as I could!! Then I would have fired up the good old honda generator and ran it on high setting, while making water of course!!

    LOL

  4. That looks dreamy... We can't wait to get back up there! Wait, yes we can... This is all about slowing down right? We do look forward to it though. Lovely photos! :)

  5. R - The water in Cabo was really warm (at least a couple of weeks ago). We swam around for over an hour and didn't get cold.

Tom & Jeanne - The AC/DC and generator is a good idea. I think I'll pick up one of those Mexican wrestling masks you see them selling on the street sometimes. Then I can come out on deck wearing nothing but that mask and waving around a turkey baster while the AC/DC blasts... should do the trick.

Kyra and Rick - We're still hoping to run into you guys... sorry about your mast. That must have made a sound that you won't soon forget.

  7. WHAT goes through their minds when they anchor like that? ("Minds"? What minds?)

  8. The Super quiet series generators from Honda, truly live up to their name. Lawn Mower Sales Roswell are also quiet and have incredibly low decibel levels.
