Next stop, San Diego

As the saying goes, a rolling stone collects no moss.  And judging by the fringe of green seaweed growing on Bella Star’s belly, it’s time to get rolling!

If all goes as planned, we’ll be in San Diego tomorrow morning.  The city’s harbors and marinas will be filling up with boats for the Baja Ha-Ha cruisers rally, and although we aren’t participating, it’ll still be exciting to see so many cruising boats in one place and feel the buzz as people gear up to head to the land of cervezas y sol.  Viva Mexico!

  1. Congrats on making it that far! Did you guys cruise by Avalon, and if not any desire to see it?

  2. Thanks Brian! We just cruised right on by Avalon. It's a pretty crowded and pricey mooring field with fees to even land the dinghy. If we were going to Catalina I think we'd choose one of the other anchorages for a more relaxed stay but that's just how we tend to do it. Anyway, we skipped it entirely since we need to haul out in Ensenada and who knows how long that will be. We want to be ready to be south of there on Nov. 1st.

  3. Happy Anniversary you two! Hope you had a great time celebrating in Santa Barbara...can't imagine that you wouldn't though. Nicole, I'm going to say you'll either be in Central America heading north, or...drum roll please...somewhere in the vicinity of Fiji! Keep sailing and keep having fun!!
