What is the best Mexican beer?

By Aaron

It’s an important question.  One that requires some considerable research.  SV Estrellita procured 12 different Mexican beers and we did a blind taste test.  In the name of science!  (Also celebrating their 500 days of cruising milestone, and our 6 month milestone.)

See their post on the best Mexican beer here.

The clear winner was Bohemia!

  1. Love it! Pacifico is my favorite, but if I ever happen upon Bohemia, I'll happily try it now... Brilliant research!

  2. Bohemia was the closet thing we found to PNW beer. However, they never offered Bohemian in a whale size. Of all the beers we surveyed, only Pacifico offered me something in a cetacean volume so that quickly became our go-to cerveza.

    Nice work on the science!

  4. Wait until you hit Central America and South America where they have only 2 beer types but from the same manufacturer. One is cheap and the other is a little less cheap ;-) How is one to choose? Go for cheap - I think it is the same beer masquerading in a different bottle!

BTW - any g-free beer down there yet? I'm hoping for at least one for our Cabo visit (I know I am dreaming!).

  5. Rebecca, I haven't seen an g-free beer yet... Maybe you could bring some with you? Cabo is definitely a place where you'll want to drink. :)

  6. Ahhh, beer research, now that's something I could throw myself into for a spell. Congratulations on 6 months (Has it really been that long?).
